Inside My Luxury Wedding Planning Process: What Happens Before You Sign With Me

10/07/2025
Wedding Planning

Choosing a wedding planner is one of the most important decisions you will make for your celebration. It is not only about logistics. It is about trust, creative chemistry, and feeling truly understood. You want someone who listens carefully, translates your vision with taste and precision, and protects your time, budget, and peace of mind. As a Franco-Scottish, bilingual planner based in France, my role is to guide you with clarity, curate the right venues and vendors, and design an experience that feels effortless and deeply you.

Before we commit to working together, I follow a clear pre-booking process that lets you evaluate fit on both the human and creative sides. You will see how I think, how I plan, and how I communicate. You will understand timelines, budget ranges, and design direction. Most importantly, you will know whether we share the same aesthetic standards and values.

Here is exactly what happens before you officially sign with me, step by step. This transparent path ensures alignment on vision and numbers, sets expectations from day one, and gives you the confidence to move forward with intention.

1. THE FIRST CONTACT
Your journey begins the moment you reach out, and there are several ways to do so.You can contact me via the form on my website, send me a WhatsApp message, email me directly, or even DM me on Instagram.

In our first exchange, I like to get a sense of your event by asking a few essentials. We talk about your approximate guest count to understand the scale of your celebration. I also ask about your overall budget envelope so I can guide you toward realistic, high-impact choices from the start.Knowing where you dream of getting married — Paris, Provence, or the French Riviera — helps me imagine the right settings for you. Finally, sharing the season and number of days you are considering allows me to anticipate venue availability and plan logistics with precision.

These first insights help me shape a project that reflects your vision and make sure every step that follows is purposeful and tailored to you.

2. THE FEASIBILITY CALL

Once I receive your initial information, we schedule a short 20 minute call. This conversation is warm and relaxed – a chance to make sure we are on the same page before going further.

During this call, I assess the feasibility of your project by looking at whether your vision, budget, and location align with the services I provide.
It is also the perfect moment to get to know each other. I briefly introduce myself and the way I work, and I ask you a few additional questions about your celebration so I can see whether we are a good fit. By the end of this call, we will already know whether it makes sense to continue the process and move on to the next step together.
3. the discovery call

This is where we dive deeper into your wedding vision. Our call usually lasts around two hours and is designed to give you clarity and reassurance.

I start by reviewing the information I already have, then I introduce myself & present my services, my process, and a first glimpse of how I would approach your project.

This conversation is highly interactive. I ask about your love story, your personalities, and what inspires you. We talk about Pinterest boards, design ideas, entertainment, and the guest experience you want to create. To help you picture the process, I show you a sample online planning documents & process so you can visualize how your preparations will unfold.

This meeting feels both relaxed and productive, by the end, we have already started to translate your dream into a structured and actionable plan.

4. YOUR TAILORED WEDDING PROJECT BOOK

After the discovery meeting, I begin working behind the scenes to create a fully bespoke wedding project book.

This document is carefully crafted and includes:
A visual translation of your wedding vision, complete with moodboards and inspiration.
Recommendations that fit your style, budget, and logistics.
A first estimated budget, aligned with your priorities and guest count.
A proposed timeline to help you picture how the entire wedding weekend will unfold.

This step is fully made-to-measure and represents several hours of work. It allows you to see whether we are fully aligned on the vision, the numbers, and the priorities before you commit.

5. BUDGET REVIEW & PROPOSAL

For couples ready to move quickly, it’s completely possible to can an initial budget estimate after the discovery call. Otherwise, I take one week to prepare a detailed budget breakdown.

When we meet again, we review everything together: the estimated budget, your priorities, the contract & the general terms & conditions. We adjust where needed, and I walk you through the key contractual points so that you are completely clear before signing.

6. The Contract & Cooling-Off Period

Once we agree on the vision and budget, I prepare the contract and send it electronically for signature.

In France, there is a legal 14-day cooling-off period after signing before services officially begin. This gives you time to reflect, but most couples feel confident and excited to move forward.

As soon as this period is over, we launch the planning officially, and the real magic begins.

WHY THE PROCESS MATTERS
This pre-signing journey is so much more than paperwork. It is about building trust, aligning our visions, and setting a clear direction.

By the time we start working together, we have already laid the foundation for a seamless, enjoyable, and collaborative planning process. The months ahead will feel effortless, creative, and entirely tailored to you — a true haute couture experience.
